Groundhog Day

(2/2/00)
What is the deal with Groundhog Day? I don't get it. Maybe it's just where I live, but winter is over, and I haven't seen any groundhogs around here in a few years. This is the question of the day on my board. In first hour this morning, a girl who sits next to me came up with this little saying, "Yay for Groundhog Day!" What can I say other than, um... no.

Then in second hour, there's this really annoying kid who's a junior. I'm a sophomore. He knows some programming languages like Visual Basic, and he doesn't like HTML (for this reason alone he is an idiot) and he can do a program called Poser and PhotoShop. The thing that really bugs me about him is that he is really snobbish about teaching other people his knowledge. And I was also trying to remember the sum formulas for geometric and arithmetic series, and he just read it off his calculator. I was actually making a pretty damn good attempt to do it from memory. We were supposed to put some formulas into our calculator (he knows how to program TI-83s too) but I didn't get them from him. I'm just going to go in with the formulas on an index card. My class is small enough. And either way, I'm still getting to use the formulas on the quiz tomorrow.

The rest of the day went ok. I looked for colleges during 4th hour. The only problem is that the program on the computer didn't have a way to look for colleges that taught specific majors really well. Oh well.

I've also been wanting to get some other things off my chest but instead of writing another article like I planned for my Misc. category, I will just say it here.

Did you see the halftime show at the superbowl? I thought it was really dumb. It looked like someone's bad dream! Maybe it was Disney's bad dream.... The message from James Amos was ok, although I didn't really pay attention to that. I just thought it looked kinda stupid overall. Oh well. Who would want to see more of that at Walt Disney World this summer? I wouldn't!

And I hate it when people keep going on about something that I think I'm interested in, but I just want to tell them to shut up. But that's not polite so I just listen.
